  1. Hey Rhys,
Great to see you being creative with your lego. I like the way you have used your imagination to create an original bug. What niche does your bug fill in the food chain? Does it help break down waste so it is available to other plants and animals? If so what type of waste does it convert to nutrients? Maybe your bug is a predator and helps to keep ecosystem in balance.
I am always amazes me that there is no waste in nature. Everything, from the tallest trees to the smallest microbes, are recycled and made available plants and animals as nutrients. I wonder where your bug fits in the food web. Maybe you could draw one to show your readers the bug's role in its habitat.

    2. Hi Rhys
I can see that you have thought carefully about your bug and the role in plays in its habitat. Has your bug developed any special features to avoid being eaten by the Piwakawaka?

I love watching the Piwakawaka out my lounge window in the early evening. They are often chasing the midges in the forest canopy below our house. Did you know that Piwakawaka often catch their food on the wing (that is as they flying). I wonder if they only catch flying bugs to eat, or if they also eat bugs from the forest floor or off the trunks of trees, like a robin? Where do you think you might find that information out? It would be great if you could do a bit of research around this and share it with your audience.
